What did Chuck Schumer say?

During a private progressive meeting in Wasington he says "We'd like to create rules that can't be changed by 2/3rds majority.

Never mind it being Glenn Beck and just listen to the tape he plays.

  • Sweet, I definitely think that they are! Just the fact that they are willing to ignore the majority and pass their h/c crap is overwhelming evidence that they are not out to justly represent our country, the country that they were elected to serve, even you as a liberal can see that going against all of us is wrong, can't you? Even Nancy said last week that the majority rules but she doesn't practice what she preaches, oh yeah, she lies, duh! Do you really think that so many of us are nothing more than a bunch of selfish racists, that we are all just plain stupid? Really?

Aside from all else, don't you care that your kids and their kids will have to pay for the unfreakenbelieveable amount of $$$ this gov't is spending? And that we must pay now, they take our money now & we maybe get benefits 3 or 4 years from now? WTH? Please help me to understand... I am for REFORM but I am not for their HOSTILE TAKEOVER!

Wow sweet, that was deep! *eye rolls* They are trying to drastically change / do away with the constitution. Here Sweet, I will QUOTE him!

"...generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can't do to you. Says what the federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf." Obama

Yeah, that sounds like someone who isn't happy with what the Constitution says. So can you counter this with something other than "No, it isn't"?

  • In a private meeting of Progressives (the person who passed the audio on to Glenn Beck was told he could not use the videocamera he had brought, so he used his cell phone), Chuck Schumer said:
"... ... There have been some very interesting papers written that say tht the Constitutional right, for instance of the Senate to make its own rules, SUPERCEDES the 2/3 that you can't change the rules -- but only when the Congress writes the new rules at the BEGINNING of each Congress; every 2 year period when we re-organize ourselves. ... ... THAT'S something we want to explore."

Not a huge smoking gun on its own, but very worrisome when you consider the amount of power in the hands of Mr. Schumer and those he works with, and when you consider the "re-writing" they have already done since early February 2009 ... ignoring bankruptcy laws, contract laws, restrictions in the Constitution on what gov't is allowed to do, etc.
