Would you rather have a temporary job that pays $19.00/hr or a permanent job that pays $15/hr?

For me it's no-brainer, I'd rather have the long term commitment, but I am curious if others feel the same.

  • I'd rather have security. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

  • gammie, the temp job would be as a census worker and the hours are general hours when people are home so it would be after 4 or 5 in the afternoon, and weekends.

  • I would rather have a permanent job!

  • This sounds like a math problem I just had.

A job offers to you a job that gives you a 5% raise from your current salary which is $500 a week. Every three months you get another 5% raise. Your current job offers a 10% raise to get you to stay. Which job would you take?

I'd take the five percent raise every three months.

  • Wow, where are the census workers getting paid $19 an hour?!?!?! Here in KY they are only paying $13!! WOw!

Anyways, if I had the choice, I'd take the full-time job.

  • I'd take the full time job, which is why I haven't looked into being a census worker here where I'm living. I need something permanent.

  • Considering I only make $9.00 an hour...I would jump at ether. Although I would rather pick the longterm.
