Sooooo Much Blood!

So I started my period a few days ago and its REALLY heavy! I have gone through 8 of the SUPER SUPER tampons and soaked 3 pads already today. It has never been this heavy, even right after I gave birth. There is no change in birth control or anything and no serious cramping. I did just start going to the gym. Any ideas why the change?

  • I agree with calling the doctor. That much blood is never good.

  • I called and set up an appt for Friday, but since Im a new patient, I cant get in any earlier unless its an emergency. Since I dont have any other problems I dont think its one...

  • Blood always looks like a lot more than it actually is. To be safe call the doctor but they probably won't do anything. There is a shot they can give that is supposed to slow the bleeding. If you loose too much blood you may need IV fluids or a blood transfusion.

  • I had periods like that when I had fibroids.  Is this a sudden change or have your periods been abnormal recently?
