  • Okay I feel really dumb...apparently she bruised my breast by latching on too low during night time feedings...didn't see it until yesterday...thanks though!!

  • Do you have any red, super tender spots? Any red streaking lines on your breasts? Fever or hotness on the breast? Those are signs of mastitis.
Are you possibly pregnant? That can cause the tender breasts too.

  • Could be mastitis:   http://www.askdrsears.com/html/2/T022200.asp

Could also be that you are extra full because she's more efficient at getting milk and has been demanding more...growth spurt is going to be very very soon.

  • Or it could be thrush. I got thrush a number of times. It's painful but easy to treat. Make sure you let your nipples get a little air, maybe even some sun if there's a window you can relax by. Call your ped and see if the nurse can offer you lactation advice. I was told to put a jock-itch cream on my nipples, wipe it off before the baby's next feed. that took care o it.
