how long does an allergy take to show up?

  • Yeah, it'd be quick. Although it IS an allergy risk, I believe the bigger reason not to give PB to babies is because they can choke, because it is so thick and sticky. How long ago was this, and approx how much?

    only my first didn't get peanut butter til after 1. #2 and #3 were blessed with sharing sisters

    check to see if there's history of an allergy in your family (or dh's) - that can increase the risk. but if nothing's happened yet, then she's fine.

  • crap. my newphew % gave ds peanut butter at 5 monthes AND WITHIN A FEW HOURS HE WAS COVERED IN A RASH. HE HAD A MILD REACTION BUT HE IS STILL ALLERGIC. THEY SAID IT WAS OLNY MILD BECUASE IT WAS THE FIRST TIME.
