What is your best discipline strategy?

I have a 22 month old who is throwing tantrums and does not listen! Is this normal?

  • It's normal at this age. They know how they feel but have a hard time expressing it. Watch for the triggers. and try to distract. Let them know that it's ok to get upset but not ok to hit, lash out...show them how to express anger constructively. make sure that you get down to their level of sight, not hover over them. When you see eye to eye, they tend to listen better.

  • Make sure he/she has a nap and is well rested before you go out places. Being tired is a big factor in tantrums.
