  • At what age would you let your child....?

    See a PG-13 movie? about 13 probably
Stay in the car while you run an errand? 35
Baby-sit for the neighbor’s children? never- I'd rather they rake leaves then worry about being responsible for a kid-unless I could help.
Baby-sit for his or her own younger sibling?-with me in house-13
Walk to the store to do some grocery shopping? when they have a cell and old enough for pepper spray
Have a credit card? 50? those things are evil!
Ride a bike to school?when they have a cell and old enough for pepper spray
Stay up later than you do? since I fall asleep during movies, who knows?
Use the stove? about 10- depends on what they would cook and how close a adult is. I've got a husband that isists on cooking bacon in the nude- some never learn!
Stay out after you’ve gone to bed?- when I start to let them date.

  • anon 5:50-
Have a cell phone? if it's prepaid or can't roam, I'd say about 10-no biggie 2 me. but they would have to earn the phone.
Watch TV without a parent monitoring the content? I used to say that I just wouldn't have movie chanels so not to worry about it, but now I just have the TV with a DVD player- would allow lots of stuff but I have to see it first-
Use a computer? birth- but no internet without a adult in the same room for a long time- probably until 18- too easy for predators to come to them in ways that seem safe. forget the parental controls- big joke, I know guys that are testers- broke through in less than 10 steps in many of them.
Use a computer without parental blocks? see above question PARENTAL CONTROLS ARE A JOKE!
Use a computer in their own room? with the internet on it? 18
Go alone on a play date to a friend from school you do not know?never-have to meet them 1st.
