REAR FACING CAR SEATS

My baby is 7 1/2 months and weighs 20 lbs and about 28 inches long. I just bought a convertible car seat, which is rear facing in the center of the seat and her feet are just touching the seat. Is anyone else having this problem? I was told that her feet shouldn't touch the back seat because she could break a leg if in an accident.

  • A broken leg is better than a broken neck any day.

  • There is no evidence that rear facing causes broken legs. Nowday's it is recemended that children raer face until they are two.

  • You can go on YouTube and watch videos that make a big point about how it doesn't matter if the child's legs are way too long.

  • I was 23in. at birth. If I was born nowadays, My feet would bave been touching long before i turned one. Just leave him rear facing. Like the others said, a broken legs is far better than broken neck or internal decapitation.

  • my son is 28lbs and 33 inches at 11 months and his touch the back of the seat he doesn't mind it at all...you should keep him RF til at least a yr at the minimum. i would keep him RF to the max of the seat but thats just my opinion and what im doing for my son

  • i turned my daughter around when her legs touched the seat. i dont like being scrunched up, and i wouldnt do that to my dd. plus, she is a much happier car rider, i think she was around 10 months when i turned her.
