Why do you think the bible has survived the sands of time?

The bible is being printed somewhere right now as we speak. So many have tried to eliminate it and burn it. Why do you think its still popular or still here? (any bible)

  • PP : How do you know God is angry ? I disagree.

How does the bible stand the test of time. Truth and Love never fails nor does it ever die. Regardless of how many versions there are, His truth and His Love is still written and will be written until the end of the age.

  • Because people who believe in the teachings and message of a particular religious tradition (Jewish, Christian, Hindu, etc) will work hard, sacrifice, and take risks to keep those teachings available to future generations.

  • Bloodshed and violence. Today there are millions of people who know nothing but Christianity because their families were physically forced to become christian to save their lives... So they taught their kids in order to save their lives... After a few generations that was all people knew... It's like a pyramid scheme... Each level become larger... When you have entire populations teaching their kids something under threat of death, it tends to catch on... And with each passing generation who knows no different there are more and more people with that belief...

    It's simple cause and effect...

  • It was put together for the sole purpose of uniting and controlling an empire. Many people have since become fanatical about its contents.

I don't think it has "survived" at all. It has been translated and edited multiple times. I highly doubt what it is now bears much resemblance to what it has been.

  • There really needs to be an anti-Christian or anti-God section here so people can go and bash God, Christianity, and the Bible there instead.
