I need a large recipe/idea that isn't too pricey to feed over 15-25 people

What about a couple of trays of lazagna, a big garden salad and garlic bread? Its not hard to make and not too pricey

layer pork chops that have been salt and peppered and just browned in a pan, with lemon slices, and stewed/diced tomatos in a crock pot and simmer about 6-8 hours. serve w/ or over rice! Salad and bread and butter... YUM

I always do BBQ beef on a bun.

get a big roast, roast it then slice it thin, and fill a pan with a whack of bbq sauce. toss the meat in the sauce and let it simmer in there.

get a ton of buns, and just throw the meat on the buns.

You can make it ahead then put it in the crock pot an hour before the big event. Just make the rice fresh.

 

Almost any pasta dish. BBQ pork or beef sandwiches. This casserole is really good, and filling - not super cheap, but not terribly expensive. Brown 3lbs hamburger and drain. Mix in a large jar of salsa, about a cup of Miracle Whip, 1-2 packages of taco seasoning (depending how spicy you want it), and a bag (16oz) of frozen corn. Spread 1/4 of the mixture in the bottom of 2 9x13 pans. Crush a bag of tortilla chips (plain, doritos - taco or nacho cheese, whatever you like) and sprinkle about 1/4 of the bag over each pan. Sprinkle about a cup of shredded cheese over each (cheddar, mexican blend, colby-jack, whatever you like). Repeat the layers. Bake til the cheese is melted. Serve as is, or with taco toppings - sour cream, chopped lettuce, salsa, avocado slices, olives, Ranch dressing (weird, but good), etc. You can also cut some hamburger and add some black beans to the meat mixture.
