What kind of meat can I feed my baby?

My son is 11 months old and had started eating a lot more lately. I'd like to introduce meat into his diet but I'm not a big meat eater myself and I'm unsure of what to feed him and how to prepare it.

  • No, meat is not needed, but it seems that this mom is not a vegetarian, and does not plan on raising her child to be one either. One of my LLL leaders suggested that you take some ground beef, ground chicken, ground turkey, throw it on a pan, and cook it in the oven. It's nice and small, easy to chew, and I'd imagine it'd cook pretty quickly. I think those options would be good starter meats. You don't have to cut it up all tiny, since it's ground.

  • Well the baby foods use a lot of chicken and turkey for the 2nd foods so I would assume start with poultry?
