  • Raisins. Grapes are also but you will probably need to cut them in half so your baby doesn't choke.

  • Peeled apples, peeled grapes (cut into pieces), carrots cut into thin strips, toast with cream cheese, chunks of fresh tomato, raisins...

  • My 16 month old son loves homemade "trail mix" - I'll mix together unsweetened cereals with some raisins and he loves it. It also helps me get rid of that last little bit of cereal that never seems to get eaten!

  • Fresh fruits and veggies are best, cut into pieces they are less likely to choke on. Serve veggies with ranch dressing and fruits with vanilla yogurt. Cheese sticks cut into small pieces, baked apples or pears, goldfish crackers, steamed meats cut into small pieces.

  • Hummus is very inexpensive to make, and incredibly healthy. Serve with vegetables and whole grain crackers.

  • Fresh fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese and crackers. That's about all my kids eat. I bought grapes, apples, grape tomatoes and strawberries today and the kids are already going nuts. They already got into the grapes.
