Why is homosexuality a "preference" but pedophilia is a "disease"?

I think people are unable to look at the core of the matter because they are influenced by this societies ideas of sexuality. Pedophilia has been around as long as homosexuality has- which pretty much means since the dawn of time. Some societies and cultures are excepting of one, but not the other- or both, or neither. In some culutres- a 'pedophile' is NOT a rapist.

Look at the core of the matter. It has to do with what a person is attracted to. I think that all sexualities are on equal footing when it comes to that. Some people are born pedophiles, some are born homosexual, and some heterosexual. Some people are influenced by extenuating circumstances- childhood issues with abuse, power struggles, pschological disorders, etc. and that can lead them to ANY sexual preference. But that is some.

Why is one looked at a certain way? Because of the conotation afixed to it, NOT the truth of the matter.

Children dont consent to a sexual encounter. They are not capable of understanding the effects of what they are doing. Being gay means you are engaging in an act with another consenting adult who knows the consequences of the actions. You wouldn't let a child drive your car because they wanted to, would you? No, because driving is a responsibility that is not understood by children, such is sex.

The victims of pedophiles can't consent, they are children. No matter what a pedophile says children can't consent to sexual activity.

what about beastality? isnt that sex with animals? I know thats illegal but i'm sure as hell my MIL's dog would enjoy humping anyone..he would consent to it, i promise.
