Is there a limit of savings accounts you can have in your name?

  • I don't think so. We have accounts spread out through three different banks. Also I am on my Aunts and my Mom/Step-Dads accounts. Total I have my name on about ten different accounts.

  • Nope. If you have more money than is covered by FDIC, it's a good idea to spread it out between banks.

  • Most banks will only insure up to around $200,000 in an account. You can put all you want, but if something happens, that's all you'll get back.
