Ideas for a birthday present for a girl turning 3?

It is the daughter of a friend/ co-worker and my daughter was invited to the party. We need to find a present...she likes princess stuff (of course) but already has EVERYTHING I could think of!
Any suggestions besides the usual Target toys would be appreciated! I was thinking of spending about $15.

  • How about educational stuff?
-Leap frog DVD "Letter Factory", "Words Factory"
    - Tag Reader (if she has tag already, get her a new book-- my 3yo FAV Christmas gift was tag)
    - Doodlepad,
-Leap frog writing pad (its a lil electronic toy that will teach a child to draw letters)
    - anything role playing.
    - a child can NEVER have too many books

All these are things my 3yo dd loves.

  • Magna Doodle drawing boards are awesome. Color wonder products are great too.

You can find pink and purple princess or castle building bock sets. there is one set that comes with a carriage and a princess.

Lacing beads or lacing cards are super cool for this age (the wooden sets are right around $15). I have also seen a really cool wooden girl with wooden clothes (sort of like paperdolls, but sturdier).

Fisher Price makes a doll with snap on clothes that is really neat.

Dress up clothes are always good.

A really cute purse is a good idea.

I saw a girly remote control car that looked like fun, but it might be more than $15.

Blocks with letters and/or numbers are good for a 3 year old.
