  • If it isn't the instant rice, the other stuff takes forever to cook! I make brown rice onces in a while with my meals and it generally takes longer than the meat!

  • it depends on how your cooking it are you doing the directions on the box? rice is a 2:1 ratio 2 parts water 1 part rice
i usually make spanish rice just because i like the texture better.
first i heat a non stick pan with a little oil
then i add the rice and fry it alil just till most of the rice turns white
    then i add the water
but i usually do 3 parts water and then i cover it and stir it a couple of times
i also use the chicken broth...

  • Rice has to be kept with the lid shut. 20 minutes for white rice and 45 minutes for brown.

    DON'T REMOVE THE LID!!!

  • Put in 1 cup of water for every 1/2 cup of rice
Bring to a boil (make sure it's good and boiling) - no lid
Cover and turn heat to low and let simmer for about 20 mins

  • To make a cup of rice....

Add 2 cups of water and salt to a pot, bring to a rolling boil. Add in 1 cup of rice and stir for a minute. Turn heat all the way down to low, cover and set your timer for 20 minutes. Leave it alone and take it off the heat when the time is up.

If you needed to make more rice, just make sure you double the water too. 2 cups of rice would need 4 cups of water, and so on....
