We just didn't push it or rush it. My son's diaper was changed in the bathroom since he was 18 months old and we encouraged him to sit on the toilet for a few minutes before we put the next diaper on. So by the time he was two and a half he was ready. Took three days to be completely trained. The first day he wet his pants twice including once during nap time. Then the second day just at nap time. The third day no accidents. That was that. Now that is not to say we don't have accidents occasionally. If he is playing and very involved with his play I often remind him to use the bathroom. Mainly he will say he has to go. No worries. It just takes time and a litte preparation. Best tip: no pressure and to take your child to the tiolet every two hours and change the diaper there. Then after some time has passed introduce the undies.
