Tuna fish during pregnancy...

Just how bad is tuna during pregnancy? All I seem to want to eat is tuna sandwhiches with pickles!

  • It's ok to eat tuna just not everyday. I also craved tuna sandwiches while I was pregnant. Because of the high levels of mercury, it isn't safe for the baby to eat it on a regular basis, but it should be fine about 2-3 per week. Ask your doctor just to be sure though.

  • I heard the same as the above. I'd go with once a week, but I think 2-3 is right. Talk to the doc, but it's safe in moderation.

  • Make sure you eat chunk light tuna, NOT chunk white. White tuna is higher in mercury!
