Everyone knows the Lord's Prayer- and the line 'lead us not into teptation'.
Why would a God actually lead anyone to be tempted to sin? Does God tempt or test and what really is the difference between the two if any?

Matthew 4:11 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Genesis 22:1-2 1And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 2And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
These are two instances where God allows temptation... and yet in James 1: Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one." So which is it? Also, if Jesus is God, then how was he tempted by Satan when James says God can't BE tempted?

Also allowing people to be tempted and tempting them are two different things. Glad to see someone interested in understanding the bible!
