How do you get an (earth) dirt smell out of a lounging chair?

I picked up a lounge chair, left for me, in an alley. I don't know how long it had been sitting there, but it smells strongly like dirt. It's really a nice chair.

  • Try using a good scrub brush and warm water with vinegar, let it air dry, spray with either a frabreeze or ordor-bon soaking with spray and again letting it air dry .... if it's a corduroy, can you take it off the sponge cushion? If so replace the foam and machine wash material...in vinegar

  • OP here. It is burgundy and material appears to be corduroy. Used water to clean off bird poop with no problems, so must be washable.
