If the ink from tattoos doesn't get into your blood stream why do they tell you not to get one if you're pregnant??

  • Risk of infection and you're not supposed to do anything traumatic to your body when you are pregnant. Getting a tattoo would put stress on your body.

  • Your body goes into shock and it could jeopardize your pregnancy. I asked my tattooist the same thing. There is no risk of infection if the needles are clean.

  • if you go to a dishonest person/shop to get a tattoo done and they use a dirty needle you can get hepatitis or aids .... that is not an acceptable risk when you're pregnant. so i think drs. just like to be better safe than sorry.

  • like the others already said... Hep C, Infection, and Allergic reactions are all VERY common with new tattoos.

    Why would you risk it? Can’t you just wait a few months??

  • You treat a tattoo as an open cut. You cant swim,tan scratch it.
    You chance hep C and infections..Just better to be safe right?
