Agree or disagree?

When the government puts its imprimatur on a particular religion it conveys a message of exclusion to all those who do not adhere to the favored beliefs. A government cannot be premised on the belief that all persons are created equal when it asserts that God prefers some." Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun. 1

  • Keep in mind this is also a country founded by slave owners who told us that all men are created equal. *eyeroll*

Yeah and we fought against that and won. Now slavery is against the law. Women were also considered second class citizens and that changed too. Don't forget we're still considered a young nation but we have come a long way in the past couple centuries in some cases progressing faster than our European counterparts which were in existence long before we even crossed the Atlantic. As such we still have a long way to go as well.

  • Ok. I had to look up imprimatur for the definition. So our government wants to liscense or approve religious literature? Our government? Wouldnt that be a contradiction on what we are told the very reason that this country was based on? Freedom of religion.

Yall dont lie....you know you looked it up too! lol
