Guess this is being done to help the Feds pay for this latest cost with the passing of the healthcare bill!

On Friday, DFAS, who processes pay for our military, decided to let 62 long-time employees go because of poor credit. Some were in higher positions, others lower positions, but many had delinquent medical bills. One in particular has a wife who has been battling leukemia and has medical bills out of this world with co-pays & deductibles. Others lost their jobs due to being behind on mortgages b/c of unemployment issues of their spouses. Seems strange that just before the vote on the HC bill, they're cleaning house & finding every excuse to let people go from the Fed. Gov't. Is this the Fed's way of paying for this huge mistake voted upon & passed over the last 24 hours? I don't think credit issues should be grounds for dismissal, especially for existing employees.

  • The government will "extract" money from any and all possible sources. Be prepared, while this is all being fought in court for the next 4-5 years, you ain't seen nothing yet!!!

  • So they fire the people who are in debt because of medical bills, but continue to hire the tax cheats? Interesting strategy.....

  • Employers run credit checks on prospective employees. I guess they are starting to do the same for current employees.

  • So because somebody has poor credit they have no business earning money, having a career, working? Hmmm interesting. Especially considering these people had been working there for years.

  • Frankly, I think the whole credit check issue with employment is a crock of sh*t. Now, if a person has a criminal record, that's another story, but people get into binds and have issues all the time, does that make them a bad person? Especially in today's economy. Looks like this will keep the unemployment rate at its all-time high, huh?

And there is one of the prime objectives of this Administration. Keep the citizenry dependent on the wonderful, fantabulous Federal Government....
