Don't we have a say about the Health Care Bill?

I don't want it and I think that we should be able to vote on this ourselves.

  • Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. The only way we have a say in it is by using our vote, but even that doesn't count for much.

  • That's what your representatives are for. Write lots of letters to them.

  • Yes, your say is through the person you voted into office. I don't mean just the president. Generally, I am of the opinion that if you don't vote, you can't bitch.

  • We had our chance to speak. Before the each vote we all had the opportunity to contact our representatives and tell them to vote No. That's all the say we get in our current form of government.

  • No, we never did have a say. The majority of Americans were against this bill, and Nancy Pelosi stated that they would get it through whether they had enough votes or not.

  • Well, most Americans are too ignorant to know what's in their own best interest, so it's good that there was no vote. This bill by far and large benefits people, but most are too blinded by what their special interest, lobbyist-paid politicians are selling to them to stop and see that this is actually a positive thing. When most Americans can read above an 8th grade level, then maybe yes, we should be allowed to vote for these things.
