What do you get your realator?

We are first time home buyers and just bought a house today. Are you supposed to get your realator a gift basket or something? Any ideas?

  • No, it's not customary for you to give the agent a gift. He or she made a nice commission off the sale and that's gift enough. Actually, the agent will usually buy YOU a small gift after you move into your new home. At least, my agents always have. Congratulations on your house!

  • We've bought houses before and we've never gotten our realtor a gift. They are getting a nice commission off the sale, so no gift needed.

  • I work for a Real Estate office. You do not need to buy anything for them. They do appreciate a nice Thank You note though, and try to remember them when you sell in the future.
