  • It sounds like a last name.

    The boy's name Adler \a-
    dler,
    ad-
ler\ is of Old German origin, and its meaning is "eagle". More common as a surname, especially in America.

Baby names that sound like Adler are Adlar and Adlard. Other similar baby names are Adley, Adael, Adair, Adar, Adel, Adiel, Adeel, Adlai, Atlee, Atley, Atlea, Audley, Adlin, Sadler and Tyler.

Adler is an uncommon first name for men but a very common last name for both men and women (#2473 out of 88799). (1990 U.S. Census)

  • Are you sure it's even a name?

What's wrong with a name like JOHN? or BILLY? or something normal?

  • I do think it would be fine for a middle name because there are a lot of people with last names for their middle names.

  • You should name your child whatever you like. Besides, who wants and entire earth filled with nothing but John's and Billy's? A little variety is the spice of life. And, just because it was a last name at some point does not mean it can't be a first name now.

I like it. As first or middle.
