Do you think its safe for me to remove my own IUD?

My friend said all I would have to do is pull the strings, but would it be safe.

  • absolutely not...you can do some serious damage to your cervix....have the doc take it out

  • No, have the doctor do it.When it don't don't even try it.
    When it goes in,it is in the shape of an "I" and then it opens up into the shape of a "T" so if you were to just pull it out, it could cause some damage.

  • Having an IUD removed or replaced is usually simple. Your health care provider will do it for you. Women should never try to remove IUDs themselves or ask nonprofessionals to do it for them. Serious damage could result.
    thats from planned parenthood. i wouldn't risk it
