How do you find out who's garnishing your wages?

  • Call the payroll department at your job and ask them. They actually should've sent you a copy of the garnishment before they started.

  • you were sent notification prior to the garnishments starting. It's the law, they have to send that notification out!

  • Never got anything! It's actually my husband whose wages are being garnished. He never got anything. He works for a truck stop, and they're a pretty crappy company. He called payroll when he noticed the 1st deduction and they said they to call the IRS. Well, he's up to date on taxes and never got anything about that, so we're thinking a credit card company, but I thought they'd send us something to let us know!

  • they HAD to have sent him something. generally comes certified, signature required so...
    I've never had a credit card or collector garnish wages.

    only had garnishments for taxes and child support.

  • student loans are also garnished if not paid.
