    There are a bunch of verses that mention it. I just skimmed through and didn't see anything that described what insanity "is", though which I'm assuming that's what you were looking for?

  • They called it by different things, such as being possessed by evil spirits/sins...they didn't truly know about 'insanity.'

  • The King Nebuchadnezzar went insane for a while because he took all credit for the wealth and well-being of his kingdom. God allowed it, and the Bible says that he went about on all fours, ate grass like an ox, had the long fingernails of an eagle, and went around naked. This lasted for several years until he "came to himself". Then God made him king again, to show Nebuchadnezzar that God alone sets up and takes down kings and kingdoms.
