Why am I getting ripped off by 22 dollars?

My car is a 2003 and they charge me 62.80 for the registration sticker and I want to know why if on the txDot webpage it says it should be 40.80 not 62.80, why am I getting ripped off by 22.00 dollars extra? I live in Laredo, Texas. 2004 AND OLDER MODELS.................................................. $40.80

  • Ours wasn't even as high as it says it will be according to the chart posted by JeremysMom, we only paid $30.00 for our registration (Hays co. TX). Check the fees at your local County Tax office.
