Any GREAT small towns out there?? :)

My family and I are looking to move within the next 2 years, and I am looking for any suggestions!! We are looking for nice, family-friendly places with a low cost of living. We're not sure yet if we will be buying or renting, but would definitely like to look at small town areas. I'm open to ANY place in the US EXCEPT WI, which is where we are now. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

  • Nacogdoches, Tx. Its a beautiful smaller town in East Texas. Here's some websites on it.

It really is an AWESOME town. I'm from Lufkin, TX which is just outside Nacogdoches and used to go there very frequently til DH joined the military and we moved away :(

  • cool.... im dying to know what kind of work you and/or hubby have that you can just pick up and go? Do you do all your work via computer? hubby is locked in to this location... he would have to start his career all over if we moved and after 20 yrs that would be too big a hit to our wallets to go back to square one.

  • We're not really just picking up and leaving. We have been planning to move and saving for this for years. We always knew we wanted to live in a small town, just couldn't decide on where. So now that dh's trucking company has expanded across parts of the US in the last few years, we've decided that it's a good time to go.

Thank you ladies, for the suggestions! They both look great!

  • I really liked Williams, AZ. It's an hour from the Grand Canyon. It is 30 minutes from Flagstaff. I don't know a lot more about it, but I love staying there each summer.

  • This may sound cheesey but I've always wanted to live in a small town like in Gilmore Girls...a cute Connecticut town where everyone knows everyone
