I have a recipe that calls for tomato sauce. I dont have any. Can I use some tomato soup instead?

  • I would. Tomato soup doesn't have the pure tomato taste and is sweeter, but I think that undiluted soup would work.

  • I wouldn't. I would use a can of crushed or diced or whole tomatoes. I don't like the sweeter taste of tomato soup though in anything other than the soup.

  • Tomato soup is thinner, you would probaly need to thicken it up
