have you had a large baby, and then had a smaller one?

I always hear about the seond and third children being larger than the first. But has anyone had a smaller one the second time? Did you do anything different?

  • No my son was almost 9 lbs and was 4 days late.
If my daughter would had gone the same amount of time as he did she most likely would had been HUGE.
My moms kids got smaller with each one my sister being the smallest.

  • I had a 8.5lb, then a 9.1lb, both 22 inches long and both induced at 40 weeks and 39 weeks. Then my runt came along naturally at 38.5 weeks at 8.1lbs and he was only 19 3/4 inches long. So it doesn't always mean the baby will be bigger if born later.

  • i've witnessed 2 births, my two nephews. Drew was 9 pounds 14oz and then 3 years later Colten was 4 pounds 10oz (full term, just very small)

  • My first was 8lbs 10.5ozs, born 7 days late, my second was 7lbs 15ozs born 10 days late, and my youngest was 6lbs 15ozs born at 38 weeks, 4 days. I didn't do anything different, other than I was sicker with #3. They're all girls too.

  • Yes, my 3rd was 8lbs 4 oz at 37 weeks and my last (#4) was 7lbs 11oz at 40 weeks. Both boys. I took better care of myself with #4 than #3 though.
