how to make sugar cookies thick when using cookie cutters?!?

For Christmas we tried our first round of making sugar cookies with cookie cutters, when we pulled them out of the oven they were kinda flat & didnt hold their shape very good. What did I do wrong?!

I see sugar cookies that are .5'' thick & look so yummy & moist & have great shape!! I want to make THOSE kinda sugar cookies for easter!

  • i'm assuming you're using a rolled sugar cookie recipe and not a drop sugar cookie recipe... but anyway, how thick were they before you put them into the oven? maybe you're rolling them out too thin. and also to keep them from spreading too much you can put them back into the fridge before you bake them .... hope i helped a little lol
