Obama is speaking right now. He is signing the Reconcilliation bill today. He is talking about how the bill will allow millions of middle class Americans to get a college education.

What good is a college education if there is no job available when you graduate? How will people be able to pay back the student loan Obama is touting if they have no job?

  • Not as many as you think. Just because they are only going through one bank doesn't mean it will be easier to get a loan.

  • Depends, if people go into service jobs such as teaching and law enforcement then typically their loans are forgiven because they are working in those fields. How do you know in 4-8 years their wont be jobs? we have a huge shortage of medical professionals, we need doctors and nurses right now. Making it easie to go to school to fill the open positions is not a bad idea. If someone plans to use the loans then they need to be smart about which field they pick to study, they need to look at what is in high demand and what is not likely to be out sourced or phased out over the next 20 years.

There are too many factors involved to just say "there wont be any jobs" because thats not true there are jobs out there, you just have to have the education for that field to get them.

  • It won't help any more than it already does, just put people in the private sector out of work.

  • How does eliminating the option of supplemental private loans help more people go to college?

  • Did he mention the part with college loans will be handled through predominantly liberal nonprofit groups and how there is no REAL savings? Just a transfer of money from private sector banks to non profit organizations.. Organziations who have 'close personal' friendships with liberal politicians.. I bet he didn't, huh? Pathetic.

  • Did he mention these non profit groups will be given NO BID contracts to handle the government take over of student loans?
