Why do people think Obama cares about health and the environment?

There seems to be a prevailing belief that O is some eco-lover and wants Americans to have better health. Is this because of news organizations spinning things OR is it because no one really knows what he is doing behind the mask of the health-care debate?

Obama is interested in power and only power. There are many who don't underatand what is staring them in the face but look around, there are many who do and it is we who will pull his magic carpet out from under him.

Well, Obama promised change. How is acting as power-hungry and arrogant as any other politician, creating change? See, my biggest problem is the guy promised everyone that things would change, they haven't. He just no different than Bush, or any other politician. He has only his best interests in mind. If he really wanted change, then he would do what's right for the country, not what's right for his career. The healthcare reform as it stands now will only break the system even more. It does nothing to fix what's already broken. If he wanted real change, then he would have worked to fix the broken system without all the other crap that's included in the stupid plan.

  • Anyway, as for the OP, I am not surprised by this. He is using healthcare to cover up everything else he is doing. He doesn't give a damn about what good for the environment, or for the country. He just cares about himself.

"Dr. Siddiqui's confirmation is a step backward," said Tierra Curry, a scientist at the Center for Biological Diversity. "His appointment ensures the perpetuation of pesticide- and fossil-fuel-intensive policies, which undermine global food security and imperil public health and wildlife."

I think that quote from the article explains things quite nicely.

  • Regardless of who is president, I think people always WANT to believe that those in charge really CARE.

    It's almost never true.
