  • They may NOT have dropped. Our collie didn't drop until 16mos. But I would still suggest taking him to the vet to get him fixed. And dogs don't spray like cats...

But undecended testicles can cause cancer and urinary problems and infection later on.

  • Not all in tact male dogs spray. Are you sure he wasn't fixed before you got him? By 7 months most male dogs left in tact are very interested in other animals and will start to show signs of sexual maturity (humping their toys or being on the alert for females on a walk).

If his testicles are up in his tummy still, you will probably be able to feel them. If they are up there, the vet is going to need to remove them asap. Undescended testicles can be a sign of problems.

  • Are you sure he wasn't fixed before you got him? By seven months most intact male dogs have obvious testicles. You might want to check with the previous owner/breeder/pet store to verify whether or not he is fixed.

  • i called the lady and she said he had not been fixed'
im wondering if hes even 7 months old or maybe hes younger!

  • with our male puppy they dropped well before 7 months (can't remember exactly how old), I would suggest speaking to a vet to see if he was fixed. With our puppy at 10 months he had not shown interest in humping or spraying. He lifted his leg only on things like fire hydrants or telephone poles when on walks at home he potty just like a female dog.

  • thats the same things sammy does! he pees at home like a female doggy- havnt taken him on a walk threw the neighborhood yet tho to see if he lifts his leg or not'

  • If he's 7 months old then they should have dropped already. Since the lady you got him from said that he was not fixed prior to you getting him then I would take him to the vet and have him looked at. If he is younger than 7 months the vet should be able to tell you and then figure out for you if he has been fixed or if there might be something wrong (I'm not saying there is).

As for spraying...we have never had a problem with a dog spraying. Our male dog would mark his territory outside but he never did anything inside.
