Would raw broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and celery be considered "empty calories"?

And we can eat as much of it as we want?
Or what?
I'm trying to get this healthy eating business down pat here, lol.

  • empty calories have no nutritional value at all so chips cookies candy is all empty. As far as how much veggies you can eat, i have always had as much as i want, in order to reach the amount you should be eating everyday using veggies as a snack food is a great idea.

  • No, because they are good for you. Empty calories come from crap food that have no nutrients.

  • Empty calories refers to calories that have no nutritional value: potato chips, sweetened drinks, etc. These items have calories but no benefits. They are "empty" of nutrition.

Are you referring to "negative calories?" -- the idea that some foods are so low in calories it takes more energy to break them down than you get from eating them.

You can eat as much raw veg as you want on any diet. if you're dieting, you SHOULD eat 80% of your food raw. If you eat more than a pound of carrots per day, you'll turn orange.
