How does this matter??

I have an high/normal thyroid ( a really high normal- borderline). How can this hinder my TTC??? We have been trying forever. My OB wants me to go back and retest it.Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me. Thanks!

  • Having an overactive thyroid gland can pose special concerns during pregnancy. When the body delivers too much thyroid hormone, both the mother and the baby can suffer. Miscarriages, premature births, and intrauterine growth retardation can occur when the thyroid condition goes untreated. Pregnant women with hyperthyroidism can also develop high blood pressure, and are at greater risk of heart conditions.
