Tylenol with codeine for 11mo, hurry n help

my 11mo son has big clusters of ulcer blisters in his throat, hes got them several times since he was in infant. the dr said they are viral and will go away within 5-7days. He hasnt had them in about 6mo but he has them now, and there are alot of them. Needless to say hes in some pain. He wont hardly eat or drink anything im having to force it down, and when the tylenol wears off hes screaming bloody murder and stiffing his body. His dr recommended using tylenol with codeine, and i was wondering if anyone has any experience with it in babies? I dont know anything about it, except what i read on the walgreens paper. Did your child have any side effects, and what? Thanks

  • Sleepy, if the Dr. says it's ok and will help with the pain give it to him. Keep him close.

  • Codeine is an excellent pain killer, it will also suppress coughing. I would just make sure your doc and pharmacist are gaging the dose by weight not age.
