3 days ago, my husband started having trouble peeing and felt burning at the tip of his penis upon urinating. He also had an urgency to go every 2 hours. He is 55 years old and we are monogamous. He saw a Dr. yesterday and they said it is prostatitis and happens when a man is over 50. They drew some blood for tests and he gave a sample of urine. He got a prescription for Cipro. But I wonder if I somehow gave it to him. We had sex 4 days before. I have had bladder infections in the past.

Has anyone's husband had this condition and what causes it?
