  • I am a hairstylist and I think it is awful,,, services should not be taxed the hairstylist already pays taxes on their income,,should we pay tax for a babysitter service or a dog walker? It is one more thing for us to keep track of,,and honestly it could hurt our business even more! People are already streching out their appointments and if they had a tax on our services I can see our color business suffering even more!

  • I think we already do... 6 percent. But, I could be mistaken. I usually get hair products and I know they charge tax on those. I guess I never paid attention to whether or not the haircut itself is taxed.

  • "I think I will be pulling out my scissors."

LOL, for me, if they do charge sales tax, it would be about $1.00 and that is hardly enough savings to make me butcher my own hair. (I can cut bangs, but I'm no hairdresser! LOL)

  • We already pay 6% state tax on most services, including hair cuts. It generates much needed income for the state coffers and does not significantly increase the price of a hair cut.
