Have you noticed that prices are higher now more than ever since drug stores started accepting food stamps?

  • Okay, maybe I am just having a brain freeze, but why would accepting food stamps make costs go up?

My pharmacy is a mom and pop. They don't sell food and they don't take Medicaid so I am pretty sure they aren't taking food stamps either.

  • Target doesn't accept food stamps. What are you talking about?

  • What does accepting food stamps have to do with anything??? Its called inflation! The higher minimum wage goes, the more the stores have to pay their employees, the prices go up!!!

  • Here rite aids, walgreens, etc were higher priced then going to target or walmart. Walmart here has been accepting food stamps for years and their prices still go up...inflation is a bitch lol

  • No, I really didn't notice any correlation between those two things. I have noticed that since the min wage went up, and since we got into this "recession" that the price of everything, not just food, went up. Go figure!

  • Actually, I didn't know they did or didn't accept them but things are going up because of our situation. Spending wildly and encouraging job losses. I doubt it has anything to do with food stamps.

  • I don't know where you have been, but drug store prices have always been high...at least here in NY.

Stop trying to start "foodstamp drama". Don't you have better things to do today??

  • No. I actually can get some pretty good deals on things at Walgreens. Prices may have gone up on things like milk or eggs when gas prices were so high. Otherwise, I pay $1.29 for eggs there and coke is 5 for $12.50 for 12 packs. At the regular grocery store, a case of coke is almost $5.00
