  • Wow, some of you are confused. The news stations don't decide what they will tell us. They are owned by people who decide what we will be permitted to hear based on their political affiliations and who pays them best. Everything is for sale in America, even the news.
This is actually more true than you think...even the advertising of products is placed in the news..campaigns are won and lost because of the news.. PR firms get paid from clients to get the stories that support their interest air time. Seriously, go to library and check out some books on PR and Advertising in America. Its a multi billion dollar industry. One of the easiest ways to see through it are to check out the times covers around the world. All over the world there will be unfavorable coverage of the war towards the US and then on our cover is Tiger Woods. When your done reading a story copy and paste the source, you'll be surprise to find out how -

  • Omg.. can you please re-read your question, and then learn how to type a complete sentence? It would help everyone else understand it better...

  • No one tells us what to write or air. That used to be a good thing but now it has allowed lamestream media to put out lies and half truths and talk about only what they want instead of what is really happening. It's also causing them to lose viewership which has put many of them out of business. I'm sure ther will be more to come.

  • If it's sensational or tragic enough, or if it's against conservatives or Republicans you'll see it on the front page! If it makes Democrats or liberal types look bad, it'll be buried near the "help wanted" section! LOL (I mentioned Help Wanted, since there aren't any jobs, no one is looking there!!!)

  • It's SO good to see cynicism is alive and well.

Media is a business. Period. End of story. What makes headline news is what grabs eyeballs. The more eyeballs (sales/ratings) the more they can charge for ad space - the happier they all are. The decision is made by senior editorial staff. They get to say what is covered and where it's placed. Tired of the way a particular media outlet covers news? Stop watching or reading it. When they start losing income for their choices, they change the way they make them.

Have you ever stopped to consider that English is not the primary language for everyone on CM? There are people from other countries on here, you know. How rude.
