change in sleep habits?

My 4 month old started daycare last week, and I've seen some changes in his sleep habits. When he was at home he was taking a long morning nap, and short afternoon nap, and a long evening nap. He would sleep very well at night - just waking up once to eat.

Since we started daycare, he goes down fine but he's been fussing more throughout the night. What is your baby's bedtime and how old is she/he? Any advice on helping him sleep more soundly at night? Thanks!

  • This is very common when mom goes back to work. Baby starts waking during the night to try and get his "fill" of mommy that he didn't get during the day.

  • This is normal with or without changes in the daily routine...they change their sleep patterns a lot through year one and the wise mom never gets used to anything. It's actually unusual he went this long without changing it!

Keep your normal bedtime routine. Best thing you can possibly do.

  • I agree, the pattern changes with their growth. If u formula feed, there is a formula that helps to keep them full at night.....which helps them sleep longer. RestFull by Enfamil.

Even so, sleep patterns are forever changing due to the crazy growth spurts they go through.
