Taking omega 3 capsules while nursing?

Is this wise as I don't eat fish? Is it a good idea?

  • As long as it's from an actual source of omega 3, like fish oil. The stuff the formula companies sell (expecta? I think) is garbage.

You can also get omega 3s from eggs, grassfed beef and dairy products and flax seeds (among other foods).

  • Unless you are allergic, they are fine. You should also continue taking your prenatals if you don't get all the nutrients you need from your diet (and leat's face it, who does?) It's less for the baby and more for you so your body doesn't start using your stores to supply the baby's needs and you end up with a deficiency.
