  • I have before! We went out to eat, I didn't bring her sippy (usually they offer juice) but this one place didn't have juice with the kids meal so I mixed half orange soda and half water. She drank a little but it's either that or sprite with water and VERY rarely does she get that.

  • I give my 2 1/2 yr old soda every once in a while. I don't mix it with water though. And I only give her caffiene free soda. I think it's okay for a treat every once in a while. I do it.

  • Would I? No I wouldn't.
AS a treat tho it would be ok but me personally I would not.

  • dd drinks my coke when we eat out...and she gets watered down coke or sprite from time to time..we brush her teeth twice a day, so i figure it really can't hurt anything..but that's really the only "sweet" thing she gets..she doesn't care for junk unless it's her mum mums. lol..i'm sure i'll get bashed for giving my kid coke...

  • No I wouldnt. My son thinks that raisins and juice are treats and he is perfectly happy with those. lol. Every once in awhile if we are out we will look the other way when our 22 month old sneaks a sip of his Daddy's soda but I make it a point not to drink it myself and DH isnt allowed to drink soda at home, especially in front of our son.
The ONLY way I can see myself doing it is if one of the grandparents offers soda to DS (they do it just to give me a hard I would dilute it with prob. 80 percent water.

  • No. My oldest is 3 and a half and she has never even had a sip of a carbinated beverage. I'm prone to UTI's and my dr says that carbination is just as hard on the urinary tract as caffiene. So, my kids get neither.

For a treat my toddlers get no sugar added fruit juice, but never a soda.

  • No - I've never given my kids any type of soft drink until they were at least school age. 100% fruit juice is a treat in our house, diluted with water.
