  • The only work at home job that falls under that category -- no start up costs and no selling -- would be to telecommute. Even selling on ebay has fees.

  • I work for Gourmet Cupboard and love it! It does not cost anything to start, you just need to place an order within 7 days of enrolling...

  • A work at home JOB should NEVER have a cost to start. Although some will ask that you cover the costs of things like background or drug checks... But that is normal even with out of the home jobs.

  • All of the answers have been great so far...but something to keep in mind is that there are work at home options where you don't have to "suck your family and friends" into lol...I work with a company and team who taught me how to make it work without having to go to my family and friends...so the options are out there. Just keep looking and you will find what you are looking for. If you have any questions about anything you come across you can post in the big "I want to work at home!!!" group and get answers :).

  • Do you have a former employer you could work for remotely?
You can search for jobs that match you skill set and have a telecommute option.
If you have a computer with high speed internet & Microsoft Office Pro & have at least intermediate MS Office skills, you should be able to find work as a virtual assistant (VA). For more information, go to www.ivaa.org, www.iavoa.com, www.vanetworking.com ..
Do you have a skill or experience that you can turn into a home based business? I have a friend who makes children's hair accessories in her basement & sells them to boutiques around the Midwest. My husband runs a handyman business from our home. I work from home with two lines of business; I do freelance bookkeeping & business organization, I also do career and job search coaching.
Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions about resumes, cover letters, job search strategy & interview preparation.
