My dog

My dog is 7 going on 8, and he already has the cloudiness on one of his pupils. I've seen this alot in older dogs. Does he seem kind of young for cataracts? Or could this be something else?

  • Depends on the breed and size. The life span of Irish Wolfhounds is only 7-9 years because they are sooo large.

  • I'd bring him into the vet to check it out. Smaller dogs tend to live longer. Sorry I can't be much help.

  • This is very common and while it could be cateracts it the cloudiness is actually a very normal thing that happens when they get older, they can still see perfectly fine. However, the only way to know for sure is to have the vet take a look.
