  • Yes. But we feel we are fair and consistent. They get verbal warnings, then time outs, then loss of toys/privileges--depending on the "infraction" or the severity of the action. My children have Autism, so they need MANY reminders and warnings about expected behavior. But they also need to learn to respect others and be conscientious of their personal safety.

Even when my children were only saying a couple of words, I stressed that those words were "please" and "thank you!" :o)

  • I'm a pretty laid back mom. As my son gets older I will be strict about tv time, etc as anon 1:19 said, since i'm all about being active outdoors and all, and i'll be strict about his diet (limiting junk food), otherwise I'll be laid back.

  • Oh yea I'm the strict one .The one that other Mothers say what does so & so's Mom think it. The one whose daughter says when the others want to sneak out, says oh no not me my Mom will some how find out. I don't want to get grounded. At the same time I have a very open relationship with my Children and their friends. The things they tell me.

  • I expect my 21 month old dd to do what I ask, but I'm not a "drill sergeant". She's only a baby...she's still learning about her environment.

  • We expect them to respect us, our home, and each other, and maintain good grades. We are also strict on safety, as far as where they are allowed to go, and who they can be with. Other than that we treat them as kids and allow them to have fun.
